Job Description

  • IM/FM Residency Program
  • Level II Trauma Center
  • 506 hospital beds
  • Average Daily Census: 17-18
  • Day (6a-6p): 11 physicians & 2 NPPA
  • Night (6p-6a): 2 physicians & 1 NPPA
  • Procedures preferred: central lines, lumbar puncture, thoracentesis, paracentesis
  • Closed ICU
  • EMR: Meditech
  • Physicians Competitive Salary, $50K signing bonus + relocation

GME Physician Qualifications:

  • Previous GME?experience required
  • Oversight of 3-4 residents/shift
  • Teach, supervise, oversee resident's care, meet with residents multiple times per day, round with them
  • Non-GME & GME work well together
  • Comprehensive benefits package

Facility Information

LewisGale Medical Center is a 306-bed facility staffed with highly skilled medical professionals. The hospital is part of a system with four hospitals, two Cancer Centers and six Outpatient Centers catering to over 250,000 patients annually. LewisGale Medical Center is an accredited chest pain center approved by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care, and it is a top performer on key quality measures by the Joint Commission.

Salem is a small city in Roanoke County, Virginia, situated in the Shenandoah Valley between the Allegheny and Blue Ridge Mountains on the Roanoke River. Salem offers all the beauty that nature can bestow, great neighborhoods, a low cost of living, excellent schools, and plenty of recreational activities. The city is located approximately 30 miles from Blacksburg and 104 miles from Greensboro, North Carolina.
