Kate Koplan, MD, brings decades of experience and will be solely dedicated to improving clinical quality and patient outcomes
ATLANTA, GA – Nov. 26, 2024 – SCP Health, a national clinical services provider, today announced that Kate Koplan, MD, MPH, FACP, CPPS, a strategic and prominent health care leader, has been appointed as its executive vice president and clinical quality officer. As a visionary physician leader, Dr. Koplan will oversee clinical quality for all SCP Health clinical service lines, including emergency medicine, hospital medicine, critical care, and our hospital-at-home, Connected Care, and value-based programs. She will be at the forefront of enhancing high-quality care delivery, patient safety, and operational outcomes.
Dr. Koplan most recently served as the chief quality officer and associate medical director at The Southeast Permanente Medical Group of Kaiser Permanente Georgia, where she successfully redesigned safety and equity systems and oversaw the delivery of exceptional clinical outcomes in a high-quality and reliable environment. Prior to her role at Kaiser Permanente, Koplan co-designed and implemented a quality hospital management program, as well as a large value-based performance contract while she was the director of medical management and quality performance, respectively, at Atrius Health and Harvard Vanguard in Boston, MA.

Dr. Koplan holds a Doctor of Medicine and Master of Public Health from Emory University Schools of Medicine and Public Health and completed residency at Harvard Medical School. In addition, she received a Certificate in Executive Leadership from Harvard Business School. She is board-certified in internal medicine and remains active clinically.
