Job Description

  • 35K annual ED volume
  • 338 hospital beds
  • 25 ED beds
  • 34 hour physician coverage
  • 36 hour NP/PA coverage
  • Level III trauma center
  • Providers are expected to respond to codes, intubations, and death
    pronouncements

Facility Information

Citizens Medical Center is a not-for-profit hospital known for compassionate patient care, clinical expertise, and bringing advanced medical services to the South Texas. Citizens Medical Center is a 338-bed acute care hospital with over 1,200 employees. The facility is recognized for its outstanding cardiology program which includes an accredited Chest Pain Center and an approved STEMI receiving center for heart attack patients. Citizens also has an accredited Comprehensive Community Cancer Program by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer and a 24/7 emergency department, advanced Level III Trauma facility and onsite medical helicopter, a primary stroke center, imaging and surgery centers, and many other services.

Community Information

Victoria is located in the county seat of Victoria County, Texas. This town is located 30 miles inland from the Gulf of Mexico. Victoria is an extremely active community with over 200 clubs and organizations, and numerous festivals and events. There are many options for schools in this town and the local college is Victoria College and University of Houston - Victoria campus. Other nearby colleges include Texas Lutheran University and Wharton County Junior College. Victoria is less than 2.5 hours south of Austin and San Antonio.
