This week marks the 19 year anniversary of Schumacher Group. I can hardly believe it’s been nearly two decades since we opened our doors!
We started with just a vision – and an unwavering commitment to improving the patient experience in the Emergency Department. What began with one client – Opelousas General Hospital – has now grown to a nationwide company serving more than 4 million patients each year.
We are currently managing over 3,000 contracted providers in emergency room and hospital facilities throughout 27 states. In the last year, we added our first ever contracts in the states of Illinois and Montana. We also made our footprint in New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey and envision continued success in the Northeast region of the US. In addition, we are now impacting the entire continuum of care for facilities by securing contracts that not only include Emergency Medicine services, but Hospital Medicine, Care Management and Wellness services as well. Most recently, we were named the #2 largest privately owned business based in Acadiana, the area surrounding Lafayette, LA.
I’m so humbled by the growth and success we have been afforded, due in large part to the extraordinary talents and enthusiasm of every person in the organization, both past and present. It’s a distinct privilege to take care of the patients we serve, and our extraordinary team plays a major role in all of this. They are truly difference makers – helping us live out the mission that we wrote 19 years ago, when what we are today was just an idea. We started with a small handful of dedicated individuals, one hospital, one region and a passion for what we believed in. It’s incredible to think of where we came from and where we are headed!
