  • 40K annual combined ED volume-including Christiansburg Freestanding Emergency Center
  • 146 hospital beds
  • 48 hours physician coverage
  • 24 hours NP/PA coverage
  • ABEM/ABEOM required
  • BE/BC-must be certified within 7 years of completing residency
  • ATLS required

Facility Information

LewisGale Hospital Montgomery, located in Blacksburg, Virginia, is a 146-bed acute care facility serving the New River Valley region with a full range of inpatient and outpatient medical services. As a Level III trauma center and part of the HCA Virginia Health System, it provides 24/7 emergency care, advanced surgical services, orthopedics, cardiovascular and stroke care, and women's health. The hospital recently completed a major expansion to enhance surgical and patient care facilities, reflecting its commitment to delivering advanced, compassionate healthcare close to home. With a focus on innovation, patient safety, and community well-being, LewisGale Hospital Montgomery continues to be a trusted regional healthcare leader. Complementing the main hospital, the LewisGale Christiansburg ER offers convenient, around-the-clock emergency services as a freestanding department of the Montgomery campus. The 10,000-square-foot facility includes 11 private treatment rooms, a dedicated trauma bay, on-site imaging (CT, X-ray, ultrasound), and a full-service laboratory---delivering hospital-level emergency care without the need to travel to Blacksburg. Designed to improve access for residents of Christiansburg and surrounding communities, the ER provides rapid treatment for everything from minor injuries to life-threatening emergencies, ensuring seamless coordination and patient transfers to LewisGale Hospital Montgomery when specialized or inpatient care is required.
